Summer Events!

To kick off a summer of creative fun, Laura Weber will once again be hosting her popular Create & Crop with Cricut! classes and crop on Saturday, May 30th. A fun little treat box and card for summer!

For the summer months ahead, I made an executive decision that our hosted weekend crops for June, July, August and September will be Saturday/Sunday events. All summer long, downtown North St. Paul hosts the Friday Night History Cruze classic car events every week. With our street blocked off from about 6:00 until 10:00 pm every Friday from June through the middle of September, it would be difficult for our guests to park close to the Coop and to get in and out, so we’re going to bypass the situation entirely and hold our hosted crops on Saturdays and Sundays only through the summer months, with Friday night crops resuming in the fall.

If you haven’t been to one of our hosted crops, you’re missing out on loads of fun! Our crops are generally held on the third weekend of every month, and they’re a great way to get together with your scrapping friends. What better way to get those graduation cards made, photo boards and scrapbooks completed, or even to work on stamped greeting cards, holiday cards or other creative projects?

In addition to having hours of uninterrupted work time, we mix things up with a few fun make n’ take projects, yummy stuff to snack on and our “Where’s Scrappy?” game going on throughout the weekend event to keep you motivated to create! For the same price you’d pay elsewhere for a 12 hour crop, you could be cropping with us for 19 full hours over two days–and we even feed you too!

Even though we missed Mother’s Day by a week, we just couldn’t resist making these way-the-heck-too-cute purse and shoe boxes at our May hosted crop! How fun is that? They’d also be great for girl graduates, brides to be, birthdays and so much more.

So much more is on the way this summer at A Creative Coop! We hope that you set aside some creative time for yourself in the busy weeks and months ahead and join us for one or more of our awesome crops!

P.S.–If our hosted crops don’t fit with your summer schedule, our crop room is also available for private rental! You can rent out our space by the half day, full day, or even a whole weekend any time that we don’t have something scheduled on the calendar. April and May Crops and Events!

Registration is open for both the April and May hosted crops. Croppers interested in attending can register online via my website at http://www.anangelsart.com/crop.htm . The April hosted crop will be the weekend of April 17-18-19th, and the May hosted crop will be the weekend of May 15-16-17th.

We’re also going to co-host a fundraiser crop on Saturday, May 2nd from 10am-10pm. The crop/craft day will be co-hosted with American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Team 60 to raise funds for their Relay Team. The cost for this crop will be a tax deductible donation of $35. More Crops Added!

I’ve been having some computer problems which have prevented me from updating the blog lately. Hopefully they are resolved now and we can get some new info up. I’ve added two crops to the schedule in February and one in March. We’re going to try doing a themed crop on Friday night, Feb. 13th, it’s going to be a Tater Tot Crop from Key Lime Crops and it should be a ton of fun. Instead of our usual Friday night Pizza, we’re going to have our fab Mashed Potato Martini Bar for dinner, some fun and different cropping games that will follow our Tater Tot theme, cool prizes and goodie bags, and more for just $20 per person! You won’t want to miss it. If the themed crops go over well, we’ll add more of them to the schedule as time permits.

My February and March weekend crops are both scheduled for the weekend of the 20-21-22 for both months and they will follow the usual program with pizza on Friday night, lunch and dinner on Saturday and brunch on Sunday for those who register for the full weekend. Can’t make it for the whole weekend? You can also register for individual days too as space permits.

We did some of the cutest make n’ takes at the January crop. I’ll see if I can get the photos added to the blog. Hopefully I’m not still having the troubles I was having, we shall see! I had problems with the images from the Nov. and Dec. crops so I’m really hoping that I can get the issues resolved.

Scrapping & Stamping Garage Sale Nov. 1st at the Coop!

I almost forgot that I wanted to remind everyone about our Scrapping & Stamping Garage Sale that will be going on from 9-4 on Saturday, November 1st at A Creative Coop, 2570 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, MN. Anyone who loves scrapping, stamping, paper crafts and other creative pursuits should plan to come check this out! The deals will be really hot so you’ll want to get there early. Both Debbie and I have a ton of GREAT stuff that we had such good intentions for but never got around to using in kits or classes, so it’s time to let it go. Most items are new, some stuff is gently used such as stamps and organizational items and there will be loads of cool crafting things to choose from!

Mark your calendar now to save the date. If you like to make unique and fun holiday gifts, you’re sure to find a lot of things that will help you do just that and at prices that will fit your budget!

Check out our make n’ takes from last weekend!

Our first crop at the Coop was a blast! Everyone was really productive and seemed to get a lot done so that was great. We did these three little projects for our make n’ takes and we wanted to share them with everyone out there who wasn’t able to come crop with us. We’ll be doing these same projects this weekend at Debbie’s crop, and then we’ll post the extra kits up for sale on my site, www.anangelsart.com afterward.

Our First Crops are Scheduled!

We have some crops on the calendar for the Coop! My first hosted crop (www.anangelsart.com) is going to be October 10-11-12, and Deb’s first hosted crop (www.hopefuljourneys.com) is going to be the following weekend October 17-18-19. Attendees may register for any or all days of the crop weekend, with the best value being the full weekend package.

When you check the calendar page on the website for the Coop, you will see the information on where to register for each crop by clicking on the dates you’re interested in and following the posted links.

Hopefully we’ll be able to get a lot of the remaining loose ends tied up in the next week or so, and then we’ll be able to get some photos of the Coop posted here on the blog and also on the website so you can see what’s been keeping us so busy!

Getting Closer!

Well, we are getting closer to opening our doors. The calendar has been updated on www.acreativecoop.com. We have 2 weekends with hosted crops scheduled. Mary and I are also working on getting some classes together for October and November. We still have some painting, scrubbing, building, etc to do. With only a few of weeks away until our first hosted crop, we will be busy.

Thanks to Nikki for leaving a comment. It brings a smile to my face to know that others are as excited as we are to be able to offer a place to crop. Can’t wait to see some familiar faces, along with meeting new ones in October.
